Let's Make Stress Suck Less

I have spent most of my life consumed by stress. I was raised in a very loving home with a lot of stress in it, as the daughter of an ER doctor. 

 

I thought stress was “just the way”.

I started to believe that stress = value at a very young age.

I believed stress was a necessary component of success.

 

I formed a series of healthy and unhealthy coping mechanisms throughout my life until I felt completely trapped by stress at the height of my career as a wife and mother of two young children. 

 

They healthy coping mechanisms were no longer outweighing the negative coping mechanisms. 

 

I was a big mess on the inside and I thought I was hiding it from everyone around me.

 

But looking back, I now know I wasn't. I was yelling at my kids, totally freaked out by work demands, my marriage and friendships suffered and I knew I could control this somehow, but none of the resources I tried (podcasts, books, therapy) made a lasting impact.

 

Transformational coaching entered my life and everything changed!!

 

I learned how to conserve my energy, create positive, lasting healthy, and balanced results in my business and my home life, and teach others how to do the same, especially in stressful situations.

 

It's a good thing, too. I deserve the best of me as do my family, friends, and clients.  

 

You never know when the next source of stress is going to pop up, like my husband's stage 3 melanoma diagnosis on our 15th anniversary, two weeks after his position was eliminated, one week before school let out for the summer.


 


How you currently respond to stressors does not have to dictate how you respond going forward. It just takes awareness, some guidance, practice, and commitment to making a positive change.
